Reaching Chadian Farmers Through CATI

In Chad, agriculture and livestock are central to rural livelihoods, with farmers producing millet, sorghum, maize and groundnuts across different parts of the country. However, irregular rainfall, drought, limited water, difficult roads and weak market access can affect both agricultural production and the ability to collect information from farming communities.

TThis is where Computer-Assisted Telephone Interviewing (CATI) becomes valuable. At CATI Africa, we use telephone surveys to connect researchers with farmers across Chad, making it easier to collect information without depending entirely on repeated field visits. Farmers can share their experiences around production, livestock, food security, access to support and the challenges affecting their livelihoods.
