Reaching Liberian Farmers Through CATI

Agriculture is a major part of life in Liberia, particularly across rural communities where farming supports household income, food supply and local trade. Smallholder farmers work under very different conditions across the country, from the wetter forest areas to communities where poor roads, limited storage and difficult access to markets can affect what farmers are able to produce and sell.

Telephone surveys give researchers a practical way to hear directly from farmers without requiring every respondent to be reached in person. CATI Africa can contact farming households across Liberia to gather information on crop production, access to inputs, farm income, market activities, food availability and the challenges affecting agricultural households.
